 CONSTRUCTING GODDESS FORTUNA

This video was produced and directed by artist Dawn DeDEAUX as a featured special effect component of her multimedia installation THE GODDESS FORTUNA AND HER DUNCES IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE SENSE OF IT ALL that premiered at Prospect 2, New Orleans (2011-12). In the tradition of great oracles who spin into a transcendental state, (and to expand audience diversification) DeDEAUX cast underground BOUNCE dance & music artists Katey Red and Big Freedia to play the role Goddess Fortuna and her Wheel of Fortune spinners. This work sample is shared to offer example of quality and sensibility, as DeDEAUX wishes to expand the work further into a traveling opera titled O'FORTUNA BOUNCE OPERA.
